Policy on Factual Accuracy and Intellectual Honesty

We strive for accuracy in the facts we report on this site. If anyone believes that any of the facts stated on this site are inaccurate, please post in our discussion forums or email accuracy@usslibertyinquiry.com. We want to find and correct any inaccuracies that may exist.

In all cases reported, we will undertake an immediate investigation to verify the accuracy of our materials. Where solid evidence of inaccuracy is presented by the complaining party, or we find it as a result of our investigation, we will make the appropriate changes.

This does not mean that we will change things on the site just because someone believes the facts to be inaccurate. If someone reports a perceived inaccuracy, but cannot support their claim, we are not going to change a presentation we know to be accurate. What we will do, however, is present the claim in the discussion forums. We will also provide our specific reasons for not accepting the claim. Our objective is to get the truth out for everyone to see.

We offer the opportunity to anyone who disagrees with the content of this site to voice their opinions. If they do not wish to use their own names in the discussion forums, they may register under an anonymous pseudonym and post in the Regular Member discussion forum. It is not our policy to edit or delete messages unless the content of the message is grossly offensive. (See also: Zero Tolerance Policy)

We welcome dissent and vigorous discussion on this site. It is not our policy or practice to deal with criticism of this site posted elsewhere. We provide complete access to anyone who wishes to criticize us. If you have a complaint, bring it, air it, and we will discuss it. If you don't what to confront us with it here, then don't whine about it elsewhere.

Unless one is totally closed minded, it is necessary to review all conclusions when credible, relevant, new evidence is developed. For that reason, it should not be regarded as any way unusual if we change our articles and even our conclusions when new materials are discovered and developed.

Similarly, we strive for intellectual honesty on our site. All too often, when studying events such as the attack on USS Liberty, one must very carefully examine all materials for signs of intellectual dishonesty. If material on our site shows signs of intellectual dishonesty, please post in our discussion forums or email accuracy@usslibertyinquiry.com. Remember, though: something is not necessarily intellectually dishonest just because it is inaccurate.

Because of serious dedication to research, many develop a zero tolerance for intellectual dishonesty. Our discussion forums are open for those who wish to discuss any USS Liberty-related material that may be intellectually dishonest.
