Gun Camera Photo Fraud

Too Wrong to Be Right

By Ken Halliwell (September 20, 2005)

What's all the fuss about the purported gun camera photos shown on the cover and within Mr. Cristol's book, The Liberty Incident? They look like gun camera photos. What would lead anybody to think they are not true gun camera photos? A fair question that deserves an answer.

The most obvious attributes that appears unusual are the high contrast (i.e., black sea and white ship) and blurriness that are much greater than seen in most other gun camera photos. But, on the other hand, perhaps these are simply poorly exposed and processed pictures.

Beyond the poor quality, there are lots of questionable details and circumstances depicted in the photos. The image below shows one of the purported gun camera photo frames with many questionable items cited.

Too Wrong to Be Right

As you can see, there are definitely many issues with the photo. Two that are most striking are smoke on the wrong side and too much black paint showing above the water line. These two circumstances simply did not occur during the attack. The photo shows the impossible; so, how can it possibly be true? In short, the photo is too wrong to be right.
